What misconceptions about life did you have as a child?
I used to think there was one of every species kind of joined together in spirit, so if you crushed an ant and its spirit was joined to your best friend your best mate and a heap of other animals would die. I didnt stop believing this til I learned that different species have different life expectancies! How did you find out the Truth!?

What matters to you most in your life?
Just whatever you feel matters most to you, that is what I am asking...
What matters the most in life without any doubt is that we are alive and this we know when we are conscious about it. Only then we will be able to appreciate being alive and enjoy ourselves, other things we will see in secondary places. Not only the importance of all these occupations and worries will change its place, but also we will see how it is connected with ourselves, our past, the influences we have received, the experiences we gained and also the chocks and the disappointments. We will see things in a different light, more objective and not depending so much on situations and conditions, more in connection with the whole. We will less worry and will enjoy life. We will be open to what comes to us, seeing it as a gift or as a challenge that will help us to grow. Then we can relate to what shows up and respond in a relaxed way, not so much conditioned by our wishes and needs. The rigidity of our concepts will fade away... brAnd all this because we are conscious that we are alive. So it becomes clear as the sunlight, that this is what matters the most.brBeiYin

There are many things that make me happy, and some that make me sad, and what makes me the happiest is to know that I am and can be loved in all the ways that love are possible in this spectrum known as life. I dont understand most poetry. Am I not a deep person?
Of course not. But if you want to understand poetry, you have to work for it. It takes a long time, because you have to learn a certain type of language. I dont know how to start reading better books?
I really like reading books that arent bad but really arent helping me learn anything. My mom keeps wanting me to start reading these good books that are classics likea tale of cities. and books like that. I know that when school starts again that I will have to start reading better books but I know that I wont suddenly be able to go from reading th grade level books to th grade level books. Some one please help me figure out how to get myself motivated to start reading better books.

I dont feel like I have a meaningful life...?
Right now Im a year old college student. My major is International EconomicsBusiness, and Im not really that happy with it. Yeah, I am semiinterested in it, but its not what I want I want to do with my life. The problem is, I dont really know what I do want to do. I just dont know that Im not doing what I want to be doing. Part of me actually wants to drop out of college, but I only have a year left, so its not an option. I just dont know what I want to do.
You sound like you have your head on straight and everybody elses confusion is your problem. Since you have endured many years high school and college to get to where you are now, year shouldnt be that difficult, especially since you sound like an eminently practical person. When you have a degree in Bird Calls, it doesnt matter if you get a job making bird calls, YOU HAVE A DEGREE. That puts you economically in a better place to choose ANY career. You may have to bend your interests slightly to make enough money to pay off your loans or whatever, but you DONT have to take a job in your field if it isnt what you want to do. A semester or two extra and you can TEACH. Or you can work for a magazine using your knowledge of International business to WRITE about international business. Or you can travel and use your knowledge in the traditional way but in an interesting PLACE.brbrI think you have the world by the scruffy parts, and that may still have nothing to do with feeling meaning in your life. Meaning often comes from activity, not from introspection.
